2019 Nissan Versa

Overview
As a no-nonsense vehicle with everything you need and nothing you don't need, the 2019 Nissan Versa is hard to beat for affordability and fuel economy. There are four trim levels: S, S Plus, SV, and SV Special Edition. The 109 hp four-cylinder engine returns fuel economy of 27 city/36 highway with the manual transmission and 31 city/39 highway with the CVT.

The base trim, which comes with a 5-speed manual transmission and crank windows, is still equipped for the times with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment display, Bluetooth connectivity, and air conditioning. The S Plus adds the Xtronic continuously variable transmission, cruise control, and a rear spoiler. Highlights of the SV trim are push-button start, power windows and locks, and upgraded cloth interior. The top-tier SV Special Edition gets fog lights, upgraded alloy wheels, and smartphone compatibility with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Accessories that are available (factory installed) include carpeted trunk and floor mats, all-season floor mats, illuminated kick plates, interior accent lighting, and side window deflectors.

Safety
Each trim level of the Versa has the Vehicle Dynamic Control with Traction Control System and a full suite of air bags. The Nissan Advanced Air Bag System has supplemental front air bags with seatbelt and occupant classification sensors, plus seat-mounted and roof-mounted supplemental air bags. There are also crumple and buckle zones built into the body's front and rear, plus side-door pipe-style beams and an energy-absorbing steering column.

Technology
Although the Versa is a no-nonsense car, it has what today's drivers need to stay charged up entertained, and able to communicate, with a USB port, Apple and Android compatibility, and Bluetooth streaming audio, and hands-free phone calls and texting. The voice recognition-enabled NissanConnect multimedia system uses a 7-inch touch-screen display as the hub for these functions.
