The 2019 Nissan Sentra offers fuel economy and a good slate of standard features in an affordable package. With six trim levels - S, SV, SR, SR Turbo, SL, and NISMO - there's a choice for anyone who's in the market for a safe and good-looking four-door sedan. The SR Turbo and sporty NISMO trim have the added zip and style that so many drivers are looking for. The base S and the NISMO are available with a six-speed stickshift, but the other trims come only with a CVT. Except for the SR Turbo with its 188 hp turbocharged engine, all Sentras are powered by a 124 hp four-cylinder engine. Mileage ratings on the turbo are 27 mpg city and 33 mpg highway, and 29 city/37 highway for the conventional engine.

Standard equipment on all trims ranges from a rearview camera to adaptive automatic headlights. As the trim levels rise, the amenities of course increase. For example, the SL has a Bose audio system and a power moonroof that slides and tilts. The top trim, the NISMO, has been designed for performance and it looks the part with its more sculpted body, sport-bolstered front seats, chrome accents, specially tuned suspension, and 18-inch alloy wheels.

All Weather Package can add heated front seats and side mirrors to trims that aren't already equipped with those wintertime saviors, and the Special Edition Package bundles a blind spot monitor, power sliding moonroof, Intelligent Cruise Control, and other sought-after equipment. Living up to its name, the Premium Package consists of a Bose audio system, HomeLink transceiver, leather-trimmed six-way power driver's seat with power lumbar support, and Blind Spot Warning with Rear Cross Traffic Alert. Among the factory-installed accessories that can be tacked on a la carte are external ground lighting, interior accent lighting (20 customizable colors), illuminated kick plates, sport pedals, and body side moldings.

The 2019 Nissan Sentra has been given a four-star rating from the National Highway Safety Administration. Its passive safety features consist of front and rear crumple zones, buckling creases in the hood, an energy-absorbing steering column, pipe-style steel door beams, and an advanced airbag system. Active safety equipment includes the standard rearview camera and available (standard on some trims) blind-spot monitor, auto emergency braking, intelligent cruise control, impact sensor, and rear cross-traffic alert. Vehicle Dynamic Control and traction control are found on all trim levels.

For the first time, the Sentra comes equipped in the 2019 model year with compatibility for both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The NissanConnect infotainment system integrates smartphone functions with audio entertainment and travel information in one 7-inch touchscreen. There are two USB ports in the system, and two more can be added for backseat passengers as a factory-installed accessory. Nissan's Advanced Drive-Assist is an available feature for additional communication and navigation functions.
